Don and Carole (Watts) Blevins will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, July 1, 2012. They were married in the First Methodist Church in Vinita on Sunday July 1, 1962.
They met om 1958 while they were attending N.E.O. College. Carole went on to Pittsburgh to further her education while Don served in the United States Army.
Carole taught school for 25 years. Carole finished her teaching career in Chickasha before retiring.
Don was in business. He served as vice-president for three companies. They moved to the United Kingdom and lived for 10 years while Don was European Director and Chairman of the board for a U.K. company and a Swedish company. When he retired, they moved back to the United States, to Chickasha, and later moved back to Miami where Don and Carole were both born. Carole was raised in Vinita. They are members of the Apostolic Assembly Church Miami, pastored by Phil Shyers .
They have one daughter Michelle who resides in North Carolina with her husband Matt. Later, in the fall, Michelle and Matt will join them on a Caribbean Cruise to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.
