— Gordon & Pauline Spangler

Married on April 13, 1941



Gordon and Pauline Spangler, Chickasha, will be celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary on April 9 with family and friends at a reception hosted by their daughters, Gordona Snow and Mandy Keller and their families. The Spanglers have three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: Travis and Brandy Snow, Carson and Lexi, of Scott AFB, IL, Sarah and Jay Hoffman of Madison, WI, and the late Stacy Keller.

Pauline Anderson and Gordon Spangler were married April 13, 1941 at the Minco Methodist Church. At that time Pauline was attending the Oklahoma College for Women (USAO) and working for the City of Chickasha. She was later employed with the Chickasha Hospital, and in 1959, Mrs. Spangler became the administrator and designer of the medical records department at the new Grady Memorial Hospital. She retired from that position in 1983.

Gordon served with the U.S Army and the Army National Guard for forty-and-one-half years. He was stationed at various locations during both World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Spangler served several years as the full-time administrator at the Army National Guard unit in Chickasha. Following his retirement from the military, Gordon worked for the OK Department of Transportation, farmed and raised cattle.

The Spanglers are long-time members of Epworth UM Church, having joined the church in 1941 before Gordon left for WW II. They were charter members of the Chickasha Swinging Chicks Square Dance Club and remain active with it and have sponsored several new dancers over the years. During the winter season they enjoy spending time with friends in Harlingen, TX.
