50th Anniversary

Dyes to be honored with reception

CHICKASHA — Fifty years ago, Sept. 2, 1960, Robert E. Dye and Elizabeth A. Ebey were united in marriage at Carter Park Baptist Church in Del City. They lived in Oklahoma City until Robert graduated from Central State College in Edmond. Robert attended seminary at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, TX.

Robert pastored churches in Illinois, Michigan and Oklahoma. He pastored Michigan Avenue Baptist Church, Chickasha, from 1977 - 1984 and again from 1993 until his retirement in 2009.

He was chaplain for William Key Correction Center in Fort Supply from March, 1990 to July, 1993. He was also volunteer chaplain for Grady County Sheriff’s Department and still serves as volunteer chaplain for Grady Memorial Hospital.

Elizabeth worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Oklahoma City and Fort Worth, Texas.  For the last 20 years, she has worked for Wal-Mart in Woodward and Chickasha.

The couple has two children: a son, John (J.D.) and his wife, Teila and a daughter, Amy and her husband, Dr. Joshua Briley. They  also have three grandchildren: Landon, Natalie and Loralei.

A reception will be held at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Pocasset on Sept. 4, 2010 from 1-4 p.m. All friends and relatives are invited to come join the celebration. The couple requests no gifts, but looks forward to sharing this occasion with their friends and relatives.
