Blood Drive

• Where: First Baptist Missionary Church Fellowship Hall

• Details: Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) will reward each donor’s giving spirit with a warm beanie cap. Anyone, who is healthy and 17 years or older, can donate blood. Baked Goods Sale

• When: Dec. 4, 9 a.m.

Relay for Life's 3rd annual Survivor’s Christmas Tea

• When: Friday Dec. 4 , 6-8 pm

• Where: Borden Community Center behind the Chickasha High School.

• Details: We would like to invite all Cancer Survivors and their caretakers to join us for fellowship and to celebrate survivors during this most special time of the year. We will be serving appetizers, snacks, & desserts, along with drinks. We will also have a drawing for Christmas presents for our Survivors. Annual Pancake Day

• Who: The Chickasha Kiwanis hosts to the public.

Friends of the Library Book Signing

• Details: Chickasha author Bill Wallace will be signing his latest book, "That Doggone Calf." Wallace's books will be available for purchase. Bill's wife Carol, who is also an author, will also be at the event.

Adult Learning Center

• What: Oklahoma high school diploma exam schedule

• When: Dec. 8 & 10, 2009

• Where: GED Test Site, Adult Learning Center, 628 Kansas Ave., Chickasha.

• Cost: $65 Test Fee; $40 Retest Fee. Everyone is required to call and reserve a testing date. A rescheduling fee of $25 will be added for those failing to give 24 hours cancellation notice.

• Details: Photo I.D. required to complete the application and each time to take the Exam. The Exam begins at 5:30 p.m. Apply in person at the Adult Learning Center or at one of the other class sites. GED Testing Accommodations are available. Ask us how we can help. Cancer Support Group

• When: Every Tuesday, 6:30 p.m.

• Where: Grady Memorial Hospital Administrative Conference Room, go in front entrance, go to the left of the elevators toward radiology.

Grief Recovery

• When: First and third Thursdays at 6 p. m.

• Where: Options Counseling Services, Inc., 420 W. Country Club Rd., Chickasha

• Details: Grief issues related to death, chronic illness, divorce, change in health, disaster victim, loss of employment, caregiver for chronically ill or other concerns will be discussed. To register call 405-222-3018, sponsored by Ross Health Care.



DivorceCare

• What: DivorceCare, a weekly support group and seminar conducted by people who understand divorce.

Adult Basic Education

• What: Free GED prep, adult basic education and family literacy classes

• When: Monday & Wednesday evenings, 5:30 - 8 p.m.

English as a second language
