Bible Baptist Church

• What: Heart of Christmas Meal

• When: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 25 (Christmas Day)

• Where: 226 S. 29th St. in Chickasha

• Details: Transportation is available by calling 224-1569. For deliveries, call 224-1569 by Wednesday, Dec. 23. A toy will be given to each child attending who is in the fifth grade or under.

H1N1shots

• When: Dec 30, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

• Where: Southern Plains Medical Center

• Details: SPMC will also offer walk-in seasonal flu vaccines beginning Dec. 14. Hours will be weekly 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Check-in is at area #6 (North end of clinic). The vaccine clinic will be closed Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1. SPMC will bill Medicare/Medicaid and all major insurance companies (must have your ID card with you).

Food for Fines

• When: Month of December

• Where: Chickasha Public Library

• Details: Make a donation to the local food pantry and in return, overdue book fees will be waived. For more details, call the Chickasha Public Library at 222-6075.



SUPPORT GROUPS



Cancer Support Group

• When: Every Tuesday, 6:30 p.m.

• Where: Grady Memorial Hospital Administrative Conference Room, go in front entrance, go to the left of the elevators toward radiology.

• Details: These meetings are for anyone dealing with cancer. Meetings are sponsored by the American Cancer Society and Grady Memorial Hospital. For information, call Alyson Kopycinski, 224-2300 or Maggie Griffith, 222-2551



Grief Recovery

• When: First and third Thursdays at 6 p. m.

• Where: Options Counseling Services, Inc., 420 W. Country Club Rd., Chickasha

• Details: Grief issues related to death, chronic illness, divorce, change in health, disaster victim, loss of employment, caregiver for chronically ill or other concerns will be discussed. To register call 405-222-3018, sponsored by Ross Health Care.



DivorceCare

• What: DivorceCare, a weekly support group and seminar conducted by people who understand divorce.

• When: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Sunday

• Where: Epworth United Methodist Church in the New Life Center, north door.



Autism Spectrum

• What: The Autism Spectrum Disorder Group, parents, caregivers and teachers.

• When: First Tuesday of the month, 6:45 - 8 p. m.

• Where: Facilitated by Options Counseling Service, Inc., 420 W. Country Club Rd., Suite Two

Diabetes Support Group

• Where: 1st Floor Conference Room of the Hospital.

Pocasset Senior Citizens Potluck

• Where: Community Building in Pocasset

• Details: Potluck meal, fellowship, dominoes. Come join the fun. Call 459-6588 for more information. This is held on the second Saturday every month.



English as a second language

• What: An adult (16 years and older) based class for individuals whose first language is NOT English.

• When: Monday & Wednesday evenings, 5:30 - 8 p.m.

• Where: Chickasha Quality Academy, 102 N. 9th St.

Kid's Crew Worship

• Who: First Baptist Church, Chickasha

• When:Sundays at 10:30 a.m.

• Details: A worship service designed especially for students in grade K-5. Rides are available by calling 224-5196. Vans run at 9 a.m. for Sunday school and again at 11:45 a.m. to return children home.



Borden Community Center

• What: Free Line Dance Lessons

• When: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Mondays of the month; 1-3 p. m.

Blessed Women to meet

• What: Non-denominational community gathering of women

• Where: Grady Co. Fairgrounds

Chickasha Deaf Chat Coffee

• What: Social get-together

• When: 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., every fourth Friday of each month, if there is a date conflict; changes will be posted.

• Where: Java Dave's Coffee Cafe, 1724 S. 4th St., Chickasha

• Details: Hosted by Dewey C. Mosshart, IV. Deaf Chat Coffee is for anyone interested in meeting deaf people, improving their sign language, debating any subject or playing games. All are welcome.



Blood Drive

• Details: Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) will reward each donor’s giving spirit with a warm beanie cap. Anyone, who is healthy and 17 years or older, can donate blood.
