CHICKASHA —
Dillon Lindsey, a prisoner in the Grady County Jail, escaped from a medical clinic near Grady Memorial Hospital yesterday around 4 p.m.
"We don't have all the details on how he escaped," Chickasha Police Chief Eddie Adamson said.
Adamson said he has received reports that Lindsey has had a violent past.
Lindsey has been in and out of jail since 2010. His most recent arrest was on Dec. 12, 2012 and resulted in Lindsey being charged with four counts of possession of a controlled substance.
There are some theories that Lindsey simply ran out of the hospital, according to Adamson. Currently there is a perimeter stretching from 29th Street to Georgia Avenue and another from Georgia Avenue to 20th Street.
There is also one helicopter in the air aiding in the search according to Adamson.
"We don't know why he was being treated at the clinic," Adamson said.
The prisoner was wearing orange but has already discarded his shirt in the woods south of Grady Memorial Hospital, Adamson said.
There have been reports of abandoned houses having open windows that had been previously been closed in the search area according to Adamson, but he said all locations in those reports were checked and cleared.
Adamson encouraged anyone that sees the escapee to contact the Chickasha Police Department or the Grady County Sheriff’s Department immediately.
