  A standoff at a rural residence near Alex ended several hours after it began Thursday when the suspect, Michael Dillon Brewer, 25, of Chickasha, killed himself with a single gunshot, Grady County Sheriff Art Kell said.

• Standoff suspect kills self

  A standoff involving an armed suspect, Grady County sheriff's personnel and Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers was ongoing for several hours Thursday at a rural residence near Alex.
  Michael Dillon Brewer, 25, of the 800 block of Illinois Ave., in Chickasha, was reportedly threatening suicide when the standoff began, Grady County Sheriff Art Kell told reporters near the scene. Kell later confirmed that Brewer had killed himself.
