CHICKASHA — One of the guys in our church, Darrell Glass from over in Cement, has a real good lookin’ team of Percheron draft horses and a beautiful carriage for them to pull around.  Man these horses are HUGE!!!  Another guy in our church also from Cement, Jean Chapman, raises miniature horses; little bitty boogers.  They are cute as a bug but they’re only 34 inches tall or less.  Can you imagine what would happen if you took one of Jean’s little horses and hooked it up to Darrell’s big old carriage???  Why that little horse couldn’t even untrack that carriage, let alone pull it around.   How frustrated and tired that little horse would get tryin’ to do something that there’s no way he could do by himself.  

I know that this is a very foolish senerio, but we do the same thing all the time.  When are we going to start really believing what Jesus said???  He told us in John 15 that we can do nothing without him.  We need to start takin’ Jesus at His word.  Don’t you get tired of trying to do it all your way and by your self?? Are you tired, worn out, and beat up with the work and problems of life.   Life will literally wear you out if you try to live like that.  What are we supposed to do???  The answer is found in the great invitation; Matthew 11:28.  

Jesus said,” Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you REST”.   He didn’t say come unto me and I will give you more work to do.  NO.  He said rest.  The world says, “don’t just stand there; do something”!!!  Jesus is trying to tell you, “don’t just do something; stand there”!!!  In verse 29 Jesus said, “Take my yoke upon you”   He didn’t say take YOUR yoke upon you!!!  Do you know what a yoke is???   It is a device to hook up TWO oxen to pull a plow.  The key here is TWO; that’s you AND Jesus.   What Jesus is inviting you to do is get hooked up with HIM.  

The most important thing to Jesus is for you to have a loving relationship with Him; not how much work you can do for Him.  Jesus just wants to work through you, not for you to do all the work yourself.  You can’t do the work of God by yourself anymore than that little horse can pull that big old carriage!!!   Jesus said “learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart.  He’s trying so hard to tell you to watch and learn from him and how much he so tenderly Loves YOU!!!!  

 If you hook up with Jesus, you will find REST for your soul.  Why???  Because Jesus said so.  He said His yoke is easy, and His burden is light.  Wouldn’t you like to lighten your load today.  Can you imagine how much better your life would be if you were hooked up to the awesome power of Jesus Christ!!!!  King of Kings; Lord of Lords; the Name above all names; GIVE HIM PRAISE!!!

My prayer for you today is that you will truly get hooked up to Jesus and you will find the rest for your soul that you so desperately need.  I pray that you recieve the revelation of His word today that, yes, He really, really, truly Loves YOU.
