CHICKASHA —
Rock Island Arts Festival is calling for art from students 3rd - 12th grades. The theme for this year is, “Transportation in the Future.: Students are encouraged to use their imagination and creativity to depict a mode of transportation that might be used in the future.
Art teachers will be informing their students of this opportunity, however, not all grade and high school students have an art teacher. Any student is eligible to participate. If there is an art teacher in your school, your entry should be included among the art students entires.
Divisions are 3-4 grade; 5-6 grades; 7-8 grades; and 9-12 grades. Art teachers of the first place students will receive a $50 cash donation to their art supply closet.
For each division, winners will receive the following gift cards: first place, $25; second place, $15; and third place, $10. Winning students will have their work recognized in the newspaper and all of the entries will be displayed at the Rock Island Arts Festival, Sept. 28-30, at the Children’s Creation Station.
