Grand Avenue Elementary is starting a new project, “Grand Goes Green!”
In an effort both to educate students about the importance of environmental stewardship and to raise money for it school, students and faculty are now collecting paper in a new green and yellow recycling bin provided by Abitibi Recycling Division.
Grand Avenue Elementary students, teachers, custodians and support staff members are making a difference by sorting paper from other trash in every classroom and office to be recycled. Looking for ways to raise funds in order to continuously elevate the level of education, teachers and administrators decided to start a campaign called “Grand Goes Green!” What better way than with a paper recycling to begin? Students will have the opportunity to participate in a school wide contest for the best announcements to be heard on the radio.
The students and faculty at Grand are excited to team up to help the environment and raise money for the school.
This project is one of many efforts to teach students how they can be GRAND students as well as GRAND citizens.
