The Chickasha Friends of the Library will host their first summer author luncheon on June 21 at noon. The event will be held in the USAO Regent's room and feature Oklahoman author K.B. Gibson. Karen Gibson has been a freelance writer for over 20 years, writing for print and online publications. She has written for national and regional publications including Women's World, Boy's Life, Southern Traveler and Home and Away magazines.
Gibson is also a past instructor for Writer's Digest Online Workshops where she taught creative writing, writing nonfiction, and writing for children. She writes educational materials, both as a curriculum writer and as an author of nonfiction children's books ranging from biographies to cultural histories.
"A Class on Murder" is her first published novel for adults and will be featured at the luncheon. She is currently working on a second book in this sereies featuring her protagonist, Ronnie Raven. She is a member of the "Sisters in Crime" mystery writers organization. The luncheon is open to the public but reservations are required and may be made by calling 222.4958. The cost is $13 and all reservations must be honored. Reservations must be received before June 19.
