Canadian Valley Technology Center installed inaugural officers for its new Toastmasters club called “CV Tech Toasters” at the Chickasha campus.
Officers are Erica Miller, president; Carla Eastep, VP of education; Janie Harris, VP of membership; Kelly Arnold, VP of public relations; Judy Keeling, secretary; Mike Sutterfield, treasurer; and Chad Bailey, sergeant at arms.
Toastmaster district officers visited CVTC several times over the past few months to help start and organize the club.
“We are extremely excited to begin a chapter in Chickasha,” said Matt Branstetter, District 16 Lt. Governor of marketing. “I am impressed by the group’s enthusiasm to bring this beneficial organization to their school.”
Canadian Valley’s Toastmasters club will meet at 3:10 p.m. every second and fourth Monday of the month at the tech center’s campus.
At the next meeting, Oct. 26, the group will formally receive its Charter from the district, and the members will receive their charter pins and certificates.
CVTC’s Foundation funded the cost of the group’s Charter.
The group is open to any employees and adult students interested in improving their leadership and public speaking skills.
Toastmasters International is the world’s largest nonprofit educational organizational devoted to communication and leadership development.
