The Grady County Democratic Party will sponsor its annual fund-raiser at 6 p.m. today in the Community Building at the Grady County Fairgrounds.
State Rep. Joe Dorman of Rush Springs will officiate the evening's activities. The Canadian County Democratic Bean Supper Band will provide entertainment.
The guest speaker for the evening will be nationally acclaimed speaker, Frosty Troy, the founding editor of the award-winning Oklahoma Observer -- an independent journal of politics, government and social issues which has won more than four dozen journalism awards. The Observer's motto is, "To comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable."
Troy has been honored with the highest awards from administrators, teachers, business and labor.
He has been a Pulitzer Prize nominee and has headed both state capitol and Washington news bureaus. He has received the Walter Cronkite Faith and Freedom Award, which he shared with ABC's Peter Jennings. Other honors include induction into the Oklahoma Career Tech Foundation Hall of Fame, National Champion of Children award, the National and Oklahoma Friend of Education award, Scouting's God & Country award, the First Amendment award, and PTA's Distinguished Service to Children award.
