Christmas Tour of Homes 104 Maple Lane to be featured on 2009 tour

104 Maple Lane a part of the original Mandeville Vista Edition is the home of Charles and Holly Ferguson, which will be one of the homes on this year’s Christmas Tour of Homes.  The home was built in 1962, by Ruben Cochran, a prominent developer in this area at the time and a builder of several of the homes on Maple Lane as well as many other homes in the Chickasha area.

The original home owners were Floyd and Thelma Bleger, who owned and operated the first Culligan Water Company in Chickasha . The Bleger’s had no children, so they were the only occupants of the house until July of 2007, when the Ferguson 's purchased it.

When the Ferguson’s purchased the home, it was as Holly said “stepping back in time to the 1960’s”. Everything inside the home was in pristine condition, with the exception of it being very outdated. The home is a two bedroom, two and half bath, a spacious formal living room/dining room and a cozy den with a very functional kitchen with plenty of cabinets for storage. A laundry room off the kitchen has plenty of space for storage as well as a pantry.

During the last two years there have been major renovations inside the home and outside as well, including the addition of a six hundred square foot sun and family room.

All the appliances have been replaced and new granite counter tops throughout the home have replaced the old ones. All the bathroom fixtures and sinks throughout the home were replaced and a shower was added in the master bedroom bath. The walls were sanded and retextured; all new lighting fixtures replaced the old ones with the exception of a few Victorian fixtures that the Ferguson ’s wanted to keep. The parquet floor in the den was re-conditioned and the luster brought back, to again shine for years to come. The entire home was re-painted and updates were made to the electrical as well.

In the back yard new wrought iron fences replaced the old ones, the yard was terraced to help with drainage and landscaping was done.

The sun room overlooks a large backyard that backs up to Woods Pond which separates the addition of Maple Lane and Woods Lane . There is always plenty of different wildlife to see in and around the pond. A portion of the area near the pond has been dedicated as a Wild Bird Sanctuary, which backs-up directly to the Ferguson property.

Come see this dramatically holiday decorated home with its Victorian Christmas Village, several Christmas trees, counted cross stitching made by Holly and a Santa collection and much more.
