Bingham seeks re-election to school board

To the editor,

I would like to take this opportunity to explain why I would like to be re-elected to the Chickasha School Board, Ward 5. The last five years have been very productive for the Chickasha School District. It has been enjoyable to see the improvements to the physical plant in general and to the high school in particular. I too, attended Chickasha Schools as well as my children and grandchildren. It is important to continue to improve the overall quality of education, including facilities.

The attitude of the school board reflects unity in the district. I am excited about the proposals for the immediate future and hope the community will pass the bond issue for the Early Childhood Center. Furthermore, I'm extremely pleased with the proposed configuration of classes and structure of the student body. This will be especially beneficial for the entire community.

I would truly like to be a part of the culmination of these proposals and therefore ask for your vote on Tuesday, February 9, 2010.

Ted Bingham, candidate

Chickasha School Board, Ward 5

Noticing a change in leaders’ attitudes

To the editor,

Ok! There has been a change in the attitude of the president, Democratic leaders in the Senate and in the House? Do you wonder why they are now stating they want to work together with the Republican Party, maybe they need to consider a different direction for obamacare? OH MY! Could it be they no longer have the 60th vote to cram the "obamacare" health program down our throat? The Democrats that will be left in 2010 are going to pay attention to YOU, THE VOTER!

They are suddenly changing the subject of discussion. Anyone among you believe this was just a change of heart, please stand up!

The people spoke and they told them NO! THEY WERE STOPPED! BY THE VOTERS! YOU DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE! Continue to protest passage of the obamacare bill. Do no relax; it will cost you if you do!

Please review very carefully to what the president said in his big speech.

Please pay attention to what the president said and how he said it. You will notice he all of a sudden is going to do or say anything that will now get him back in control! That could be cutting taxes, providing jobs, it could be anything that he thinks will please the American Voters (Remember that is now)! It was not that way a few weeks ago until he lost the majority in the Senate! He has his agenda, he does not listen to YOU and I, the American voters.

Have you heard the latest estimates about jobs, they say they have saved or placed millions of jobs??? WHO BELIEVES THAT?

CAN WE BELIEVE ANYTHING THE PRESENT LEADERS OF OUR GOVERNMENT SAYS? We need politicians to be for AMERICA not for a PARTY.

I sent many e-mails protesting obamacare to the president, to Mr. Reid and Mrs. Poloiskey. The only responses I received disregarded my opinion and invited me to help support what they are doing. In other words, they did not care what my opinion was, they just ognored them. I feel sure many of you did the same.

Please don't get me wrong, I do not want either party to control our government. I believe it should be controlled by the people who vote! Seeking GOD'S LEADERSHIP. I have seen each party go overboard to get what they want.

The president says he is putting a freeze on spending that of course is after he made trips AT OUR EXPENSE to support Democratic Politicians. He just continues to waste our tax dollars. CONTINUE TO SPEAK UP! DO NOT QUIT LETTING THEM KNOW YOU ARE WATCHING AND WILL HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE!

Paul Harris,

Chickasha

    Vote no on 744

    Dear Editor:
Education is a wonderful thing. The United States is one of the few countries where everyone is eligible for an education. High School is not restricted to only the smartest kids – anyone who makes the effort to pass the lower grades can go on to high school and/or college.

    To the Editor:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank District Attorney Bret Burns and Chickasha Police Chief Lynn Williams for going above and beyond their job descriptions to help me with a situation that recently occurred at Ninnekah High School.
Chickasha Police Chief Lynn Williams helped in a matter that occurred in the Chickasha city limits, but affected Ninnekah School. I appreciate his assistance. The Chickasha School District is extremely lucky to have a police chief who will go the extra mile to support education and student safety.
