Chickasha Area Arts Council

Henna Tattoo Workshop

with local artist Danja Lessor

• When: June 3, 7-9 p.m.

• Where: USAO Alumni House, southeast corner of 17th and Grand Avenue.

• Details: The workshop will include the history of henna tattooing, preparation and design methods. The cost of the workshop also includes a henna tattoo kit.  The workshop fee is $20 to be paid to Ms. Lessor the night of the workshop.  The class size is limited to 20 participants and is open to ages 15 years and up. Grady County TEA Party

• Program: Will include Jason Hicks, candidate for District Attorney; representative from American Majority who will explain how to effectively  contact congressional representatives, including how to write letters. Also, a garage sale will be discussed.

Reading Program Kick-Off

• Where: Chickasha Public Library

• When: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

• Details: Register on June 3rd and receive information, play games and learn more about what the program is all about.  General session meets on Thursdays at 10 a.m. for ages 6 and up. Sessions will include guest speakers, games, stories, puppets and more. Also, book clubs for ages 9 and up; Star Wars (for boys) will meet at 3 p.m.; Mysteries (for girls) will meet at 4 p.m.. Preschool story time is held on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. for children 3-5 years.

Annual Republican Round-Up

• When: Thursday, June 17, 5:30 p.m.

• Where: Grady County Fairgrounds, North Building, Chickasha

• Details: Republican candidates will have a table for their literature.  Meet and Greet them from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m..  Dinner will be at 6:30.  Cost is $15.00 per person or $150.00   for a reserved table that seats 10.  Guest speaker will be Sam McMichael.  All republican candidates will be introduced.  All republican elected officials that do not have an opponent will be introduced.  Auction  to follow.
