— The fourth annual “Breast Cancer Awareness Day at the Capitol” will be held on Tuesday, May 15 in the fourth floor rotunda of the State Capitol. This is a public event. Breast cancer survivors, patients, their families and friends and anyone else interested in learning about the disease and how to prevent it are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Over 20 organizations from around the state will have displays with information on detection and prevention as well as treatment options, medical assistance and other information for victims and survivors.
Co-Chairs for this educational event are Sen. Judy Eason McIntyre and Rep. Tommy Hardin. The event will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Sen. Eason McIntyre, a five-year breast cancer survivor, will be speaking in the afternoon. At some point in the day, event participants will be invited into the Gallery of both the House and Senate to be recognized by legislators.
Lunch will be provided, but reservations must be made by contacting Sen. Eason McIntyre’s office at cowden@oksenate.gov or by calling 521-5598 by May 7th. Lunch tickets may be picked up at the Reservation Table upon arrival.
