CHICKASHA — A Pocasset man has been arrested after allegedly touching a four-year-old inappropriately.
William Jason Caldwell, 31, was arrested by Undersheriff Irene Harvey following an interview Tuesday.
According to the affidavit, the young victim told her grandmother on Sunday that Caldwell had stuck his hand down her pants and touched her.
The grandmother reported the incident to the Sheriff’s Office on Monday. The child was brought into the Law Enforcement Center and interviewed. The child reportedly relayed the events to Harvey as she had her grandmother.
On Tuesday, Harvey interviewed Caldwell. According to the affidavit, when asked if he had touched the victim inappropriately Caldwell reportedly paused. Harvey repeated the question, and Caldwell said yes.
He reportedly told the investigator that it only happened one time. He explained that the child had been hugging and kissing on him at the time of the incident.
Caldwell said he knew he had a problem and that he would like some help.
At the conclusion of the interview, Caldwell was placed in handcuffs and booked into the Grady County jail on the charge of child molestation.
