Curtis Eugene Horton was found guilty of Assault and Battery with a Deadly Weapon by a Caddo County Jury in District Court Tuesday. On September 22, 2007, Curtis Horton shot Linda Horton, his wife at the time, in the abdomen with a .380 caliber pistol in the parking lot of the Twist Off Bar located in Apache Oklahoma. The Jury recommended Horton serve a 35 year sentence for punishment of the crime.
"We were fortunate our victim survived this attack. Mr Horton is a violent person who needs to be removed from our community. We are grateful our jury could see through the defense and find the truth," District Attorney Bret Burns said
Curtis Horton will reappear before District Judge Richard Van Dyck for formal sentencing on June 18 at 11 a.m.
