The Grady County Commissioners temporarily recessed their Monday morning meeting to consider a proposal to establish the Grady County School Finance Authority similar to the Educational Facilities created by Minco Schools. After the board approved the resolution, District Judge Richard VanDyck had all three Grady County Commissioners take the oath of office for the Grady County Educational Facilities Authority.

The board then signed a resolution approving the action. Assistant District Attorney Leslie March approved the action.

The board then opened bids for labor only for plumbing for the courthouse, accepting a bid from A-1 Plumbing of Chickasha for $55 per hour for one person and $25 per hour for an additional helper.

There were two other bidders, including Young Plumbing of Chickasha with a bid of $68 per hour for one person and $102 per hour for two persons and one from Wilson Plumbing and Heating, also of Chickasha, with a bid of $90 per hour.

There was one bidder for janitorial services for the Ag Center. The board accepted the bid from The Professionals at $650 per month for their services.

Next, Kirk Butler of Dr. Pepper submitted a list of vending machine items his company offers and asked if they could leave the beverage and sandwich machine as well as the soft drink machine in the courthouse basement. However, after Commissioners inspected the area where the machines are located, it was found there are not enough electrical outlets to supply all the machines, so the beverage and snack machine must be removed.

In addition, another snack machine from an unnamed vendor will also be removed to make way for the Imperial Vending Company’s new food machines.

Next, Assistant District Attorney Leslie March told the board that the county commissioners have no interest regarding the notice of hearing to close an alley in Norge and could approve the disclaimer for the property. March signed the disclaimer.

The board also approved disposing of equipment for the county clerk. A Savin copier purchased from Standley Systems at a cost of $7,394 was transferred to the Grady County Emergency Management Agency.
