The Friends of the Chickasha Public Library will host their third summerbook review luncheon on Thursday August 14th at the USAO regent's room.
It will feature local optometrist. Dr. Rocky Roberson. Dr. Roberson will bereviewing the book "The Real All-Americans" by Sally Jenkins. Sally
Jenkins is an award winning Washington Post columnist who has written three bestsellers. "The Real All-Americans" is Jenkins eighth book. Itcenters around me Pennsylvania Carlisle Indian School, which was foundedto give Native Americans a place in society. The book takes readers from areal battle in 1866 to a football contest in 1912. The football team playedthe schools of the Ivy League and ends battling West Point. The winningteam established Jim Thorpe and coach Glenn Pop" Wamer as two of the best known names in sports. They also changed football by being the firstteam in history to hide the ball.
