Luke Johnson, a bus driver for the Chickasha School District, was arrested on Wednesday for possessing a weapon on school grounds.
School administrators received information that Johnson may be carrying a weapon or may have one on school property.
“We had information that he may have had a gun on school property. As with all situations where there is a reasonable suspicion that someone may have a weapon on school property, we called the authorities and they searched the vehicle and did find a gun. That is all I am able to say at this time,” said assistant superintendent for transportation and facilities, Pete Bush.
Chief of Police, Lynn Williams said, “Based upon the information we received from the school we were able to obtain a warrant to search Johnson’s vehicle.”
The school district could not comment on any disciplinary actions, if any, that Johnson may face once he is released from the Grady County Jail, where he was booked on Wednesday.
