Class of 1959 reunion planned

The CHS Class of 1959 will celebrate its 50th reunion at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 25 at Cottonwood Creek’s 50s Diner, formerly the Country Club, and also on Sept. 26 for dinner in the USAO ballroom. Time and costs will be announced at a later date. Terrific Tuesday meets this week

Terrific Tuesday is a community service provided by Epworth United ethodist Church for retired persons that meets every fourth Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the New Life Center at Epworth United Methodist Church. Morning activities include cards, dominoes, checkers, puzzles and board games. Bring a sack lunch; coffee and tea are provided. A singing of Golden Oldies and favorite hymns follows lunch. If you are a caregiver for a person who is ambulatory, bring that person down. You may stay and enjoy activities or you are free to shop or run errands. If you need transportation, call 224-3320 and someone will pick you up.



Ogles plan

reunion July 12

The 79th Ogle Family Reunion will start at 9 a.m. July 12 at the Grady County Fairgrounds Building. At 9 a.m. on that Sunday, coffee and rolls will be served for those who would like to visit. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m. Participants should bring their favorite foods. Drinks will be provided. The John and Ora Barrett family will host the event. Guests are welcome.



Memorial fund

at First National

A memorial fund has been set up at First national bank and Trust Company locations for the Hood family. Donations may be made to the Chris Hood Memorial Fund.



CMS library

open in June

The Chickasha Middle School library will be open from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday through Wednesday during June for CMS students who want to come and read or work on Study Island.



Line Dance

lessons offered

Free line dance lessons are being offered at Best Western Inn in Chickasha, 2101 S. 4th St., across the street from McDonalds. Classes meet from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the first and third Monday of every month in the banquet room. Beginners and all ages are welcome. Door prizes and refreshments are served. Autism group

to meet

The Autism Spectrum Disorder Group, parents, caregivers and teachers, meets at 7 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of the month at facilitated by Options Counseling Service, Inc., 420 W. Country Club Rd., Suite Two. Call 405-222-3018 for information. Thanks to the generosity of Kelly Nunn, there is no fee for this group. No childcare is available.



Coyotee Boys

perform Tuesdays

The Coyotee Boys will play from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. every Tuesday at the Borden Park Community Center.



First Baptist to host concert

First Baptist Church, 324 W. Colorado in Chickasha, will play host to world renowned concert pianist Dino Kartsonakis at 10:30 a.m. July 5.

Dino will be presenting his patriotic program at First Baptist. This is a free concert, but a freewill offering will be taken during the concert.

The entire Chickasha and Grady County community is invited to attend. Also a special invitation to local military personnel and veterans, sheriff and police force, and firefighters is being extended to attend this celebration.



Pentecostal church hosts VBS

There will be a Vacation Bible School at the United Pentecostal Church, 1706 S. 12th St., from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. June 22-26. For rides call 222-4474.



DivorceCare to meet at Epworth

DivorceCare, a weekly support group and seminar conducted by people who undestand divorce, meets from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Sunday at Epworth United Methodist Church in the New Life Center, north door. DivorceCare is nondenominational and features Biblical teaching for recovering from divorce or separation. A different topic is highlighed each week. Child care is available.



True Country to play at Borden

True Country will play from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. every Thursday p.m. at the Borden Park Community Center.



OHCE plans

bake sale

The Grady County OHCE will be holding a bake sale Friday in the Petroleum Building in downtown Chickasha. This sale is just in time for all your Father’s Day celebrations. All proceeds will help to sponsor the OHCE Celebration of Crafts and Quilt Exhibit, which will be held November 13th and 14th at the Grady County Fairgrounds. Some of the items that will be available are homemade angel biscuits with sausage, fresh out of the oven cinnamon rolls, Italian Cream Cake, German Chocolate Cake, pies, cookies, and other baked goods. The sale will be held from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm. To place a special order call 224-2280 or 224-7270. The Petroleum Building is at 401 W. Chickasha Ave.
