Home invasion sends man to ER

A Chickasha couple experienced the horror of home invasion Sunday, June 21. Two armed men forced their way into the couple’s home demanding money, according to police reports.

Shortly before midnight, the couple, whose names have not been released, heard someone banging on the back door, police documents state.

The woman reportedly answered the door to find two males, one Caucasian, the African-American, standing there. One of the men told her someone was trying to break into her car.

When the woman opened the door a little further to see outside, the two men reportedly forced their way into the house.

One of the men told the male victim to turn around and attempted to tie his hands together with a small rope. But, the man was able to free one of his hands, grab his cell phone and dial 911.

However, before the call was completed, the African-American man took the cell phone and broke it in half. The victim then told the two men he had dialed 911 and the police would be arriving soon, according to reports.

At that time, the African-American male reportedly grabbed a pair of jean shorts that contained the victim’s wallet and keys and took off out the back door. The pair drove away in a white Ford Explorer.

At some point during the incident, one of the men reportedly struck the male victim in the back of the head with the butt of a rifle and the other hit him in the mouth with the barrel of a shotgun.

Chickasha Police Officer Eric Burkhart, who interviewed the victims at Grady Memorial Hospital, said in his report he observed “a large gash with blood” on the right side of the male victim’s face as well as two gashes on the back of his head.

The intruders reportedly struck the male victim, and police observed blood, a large gash on the side of the victim’s face and two gashes on the back of his head.
