BATTLE OF THE BANDS

Alice Awaits, a Rock/Post Hardcore band with members from Chickasha and Oklahoma City, wants your vote in the upcoming 14th Annual Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands.

The Battle is an Internet voter-based competition. Viewers can see the bands at www.battleofthebands.com. The nationwide contest lasts through April 30 – and four winning bands, one from each region of the nation, will get a spot on Vans Warped Tour.

If Alice Awaits wins, it would play the Super Pages Center, July 3 in Dallas.

Voters must register with the site before voting. They are allowed to vote once a day until the contest ends.

Lead guitar and vocals Dustin Kemp said he is excited about the opportunity, and he hopes area residents will get behind the group, register as soon as possible, and continue voting throughout April.

Alice Awaits has performed at The Bricktown Live venue, The Red Room in Norman, Okla., and The Bora Bora. The band is scheduled to play Doverstock in Chickasha on April 1.

Alice Awaits started over a year ago when members Kemp, Zach Isbell, Amy Smith, and Jess Mickle took new direction and began writing a new history to the way bands make music, Kemp said.

"With guitars blazing and drums slamming we set forth on an expedition to write music that everyone can enjoy,” he said

Three songs from the band's first release titled Welcome To The New World is available now on demo for $5 and will soon be available on Itunes.
