After eight months and numerous complaints of missing medication, a Wal-Mart pharmacist was arrested last week for stealing more than 1,000 pills from patients.
Jhona Kay Johnson was arrested for obtaining CDS by deception, possession of stolen property and embezzlement. She has been charged by the District Attorney's office with two counts of larceny of CDS, a felony.
Johnson admitted to stealing the medication, and said it was because she had pain in her knees and was stressed. She was taking multiple pain killers, diet drugs and anti-depressant drugs, because she said they made her feel better.
Johnson stole approximately 800 Lortabs, 128 Clonazapam, 32 Cyclobenzapr, 160 Phentermine, four Tizsanidine and 64 pills of Soma.
She said she was taking three to four pills daily.
Johnson paid a $2,000 bond on Wednesday, and is awaiting trial.
Wal-Mart was contacted, but manager Leon Snellson wished not to comment.
