Verden teen drowns at Fort Cobb Lake

A 15-year-old Verden boy drowned Sunday at Fort Cobb Lake at the Cove Road Camp Area in Caddo County.

An Oklahoma Highway Patrol report said Gary Michael Tags was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to an Anadarko funeral home. The incident occurred at about 4:30 p.m.

Trooper George Hoyle reported that Tags was playing in the water on an air mattress and could not swim. he fell off the air mattress and went under several times and did not resurface.

Tags' body was located at about 7:45 p.m. in a little over six feet of water.
