Variety of events offer spring break fun

GRADY COUNTY — Elementary students, high school students, college students and teachers will be running amok during the week of spring break, March 18-22.

While some may be spending their summer-vacation-teaser clearing out their Netflix queue, others may be looking for a little more excitement.



Oklahoma City St. Patrick's Day Parade: Green beer, music and a parade … what's not to love? Don something green and head down to Sheridan Ave. and Oklahoma Ave. with a lawn chair on March 16.



Norman Swap Meet: It might be a little cloudy next week, but the Norman Swap Meet is "held rain or shine" according to travelok.com. This is an all-transportation swap meet, meaning all point A to point B gadgets, whether by land, air or sea, are on display and up for sale and/or sail.



RV Super Show: Transportation tastes a little more refined to recreational vehicles? Head up to Oklahoma City, March 14 to March 17 at 3001 General Pershing Blvd for the RV Super Show. Hundreds of RVs are to be on display as well as equipment.



23rd Annual Pre-War Swap Meet: The world famous 23rd Annual International Pre-War Swap Meet will take place March 21 and 22 at the Grady County Fairgrounds in Chickasha. Car aficionados from all over the Unites States and around the world to meet every year at the Grady County Fairgrounds.



Full Gospel Church's Easter Extravaganza: Horse rides, a moon bounce, face painting, a dunk tank, caricature sketches, cotton candy and a 5,000 egg hunt will keep the kids busy for free starting at 2 p.m. at Full Gospel Church.



For more flexibility in planning the best spring break ever, there are museums which offer exhibits and fun things to do all year round, such as Chickasha's own Grady County Historical Society Museum in the Dixie Building on Chickasha Ave., Science Museum Oklahoma and the Toy and Action Figure Museum in Paul's Valley.
