Homebuyers
Education class
The Grady County OSU Extension will sponsor the Homebuyers Education class from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 19 in the Extension Conference Room.
To make reservations, contact the Extension office at 224-2216
Those homebuyers who qualify for the Homebuyer Tax Credit may find this class very helpful as they work toward closing the home sale on or before June 30, 2010, Extension officials said.
Realtors, home mortgage officers, credit counselors, and extension educators will also share about purchasing a home.
Topics will include decision making and money management, credit and home loans, shopping for a dream home, and life as a homeowner. Registration will begin at 8 a.m.
Participants who attend all the sessions will receive a certificate of completion that could be used in the home loan application process. The certificate will expire one year from completion of the course.
Buying a home is not just about pricing and negotiation. A great deal of the process has to do with how well – or how poorly – a buyer is prepared for making the purchase.
The Homebuyer education class is designed to help potential buyers analyze their current financial situation.
Also, the class will provide an opportunity to become familiar with the loan application process, different types of mortgages, and what happens at closing. Once a home is bought, homeowners need to be prepared to maintain their home and property.
The Extension office is at 828 W. Choctaw in Chickasha.
