The Chickasha Area Arts Council (CAAC) is pleased to invite the community to enjoy an evening of Poetry Reading as presented by Ron Wallace, a native of Durant, OK and adjunct professor of English at SE OK State University.
Wallace is the author of three volumes of poetry, which is frequently tinged with the language and stories of his land and family. He is recognized by Outlaw Magazine as a modern Outlaw Poet.
The Poetry Reading event is Thurs., Nov. 5, 2009 at 7 pm in the OddFellows Music Hall, 118 S. 4th St., between Kansas Ave. and Chickasha Ave. on the west side. Ample parking is located behind the building, and entry is at either the front or back.
There will be an open mic available, so guests are encouraged to read one or two of their own poems or those of favorite poets.
The most recent Poetry Reading event was held on Fri. evening, Oct. 2, during the Rock Island Arts Festival.
Three very talented and accomplished Oklahoma poets, Nathan Brown, Tracy Nelson Townsend and Sarah Webb, entertained a large and lively crowd under the stars and lighted trees on the steps of the Old Mill Building in the train Depot area.
There is no admission fee to attend the Nov. 5 Poetry Reading event, and refreshments are available.
For more information, contact Rockford Johnson, 224-0160 or 317-7506.
