Police say a local pharmacy employee was arrested this week for embezzling medication from behind the counter.
A pharmacist at CVS Pharmacy became suspicious when he found an empty bottle of alprazolam, an anti-depressant, in the back corner of the store, according to Chickasha police reports.
CVS loss prevention reviewed video surveillance and witnessed Randi Chapman steal hydrocodone, the report states.
Police believe she came in on her day off to steal the medication. After being caught, she confessed to stealing a cocktail of pain killers, anti-depressants and sleeping pills, Zolpidem, Hydrocodone, Diazepam, Phentermine, Xanax and Valium.
Chapman told police she was having personal problems and started taking the medication to cope. She had not seen a doctor, nor received any prescriptions for the medication.
She told police she did not have any pills on her, but when police searched her purse they found a colorful array of more than 13 pills.
Chapman was booked into the Grady County Jail on a felony charge of embezzlement.
