CHICKASHA —
Chris Sylve was charged with three counts of rape and two counts of initially spreading HIV/AIDS yesterday during his preliminary hearing at the Grady County Courthouse.
Assistant District Attorney Leah Edwards said Sylve's official arraignment date is scheduled for April 11.
The prosecution called three witnesses during the hearing, including Michael Francis, a man who said Sylve told him about having sexual relations with a 14-year-old after contacting the disease in 2005.
The prosecution also called Sylve's ex-wife, Nicole Sylve, who said she contracted the disease from him.
"At this time we plan to move forward with trial," Edwards said. "We are very confident in this case."
