The newly renovated Washita Theater re-opened last weekend with its first ever live performances Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.
The Chickasha Community Theater presented Once Upon A Mattress at the downtown theater, which was once a movie house.
Once Upon a Mattress is a rendition of Hans Christian Andersen's classic fairy tale The Princess and the Pea.
“Although our doors are open, there is still a lot of work to be done," Henry Heine, President of the CCT, said. " Our next step will permit us to serve the community more fully and continue to raise the monies needed to finish the dream of many of the members since our reorganization in 1994 of a professional level theater."
CCT membership is open to everyone for a annual fee of $25 for family or $10 for individuals.
For more information, to submit membership dues or to make a donation to further work on this project send to Chickasha Community Theatre, P.O. Box 1687, Chickasha, Oklahoma, 73023.
The theaters next live production will be Miracle on 34th Street Dec. 2-5.
