Police continue to follow leads in the unattended death reported Friday and are investigating the incident as a murder, said Major Elip Moore of the Chickasha Police Department.
Officers are waiting on a report from the medical examiner's office before releasing the identity of the victim. Moore said the examiner's office is using dental records to make a positive identification and will determine cause of death.
The body was found Aug. 13 in the 700 block of South Fifth Street by a friend of the occupant of the house.
"The friend went to check on him after not seeing him for a few days. A crime scene was set up and OSBI was contacted," Moore said.
The victim's vehicle was initially missing, but was located on Saturday in Chickasha. Moore said evidence was collected and processed.
