CHICKASHA —
The First National Bank & Trust building on the corner of 2nd & Chickasha Avenue, downtown Historic Chickasha will be the 4th building featured on the Main Street History Walk guided tour Friday, Sept. 17th. Tours begin at 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.Guided tour includes Washita Theatre, The Dixie, The Petroleum Building and the First National Bank.
FREE tickets are available at the Chickasha Chamber 221 Chickasha Avenue or call 224-0787 for more information.
A Chamber sponsored reception will be from 5-7:30 p.m. at the Rock Island Depot building.
Parking for the event will be at the Rock Island Depot area at 1st and Chickasha Ave.
This is a walking tour so please wear comfortable shoes.
First National Bank and Trust Company building was completed in April 1931. The attention to detail of the Art Deco architecture was continued in later west expansions in 1960 and 2002. Much care was given to honor and preserve the Architecture. History tour attendees will be impressed with the many unique and beautiful moments of the building.
The first drive up teller windows which rose from the sidewalk on hydraulic lifts were featured in Chickasha by the First National Bank.
