Funeral services for Douglas Eugene Henry, Sr., of Chickasha, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, in Epworth United Methodist Church.
Douglas Eugene Henry, Sr., was born May 30, 1939 in Chickasha to Joel and Lessie Inez (Parker) Henry. He passed away on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010 ,in Oklahoma City, at 71.
He and Camelia Turnbow were married for 18 years, and later he married Alicia Malicoat Blair on June 12, 1986 in Chickasha.
He was a lifelong Chickasha resident where he worked as a welder and mechanic. He worked for Marimont-Gabriel for 13 years before retiring in 1989. He served in the United States Navy in 1957. Mr.
Henry is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Eugenia Henry, a son Ric Blair, three brothers Wayne, Bobby Joe and A.C. Henry, and 2 sisters Ina Lee Gamble and Darlene Henry and great grandson Sirus Pennington.
He is survived by his wife, Alicia Henry of the home three daughters, Eva Henry of Chickasha, Precious Brantley and her husband, Frank, of Chickasha, Lisa Heikes and her husband, Ron, of Bridge Creek; four sons – Douglas E. Henry, Jr. and his wife, Denise, of Sulphur, Okla., Joel Henry and his wife, Kelly, of Chickasha, Pat and Robert Blair of Oregon; 19 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren; four sisters – Linda Betts of Texas, Gail Walkingstick of Missouri, Barbara Young of Texas, LeAnn Willoughby of Missouri; two brothers – Jr. Sanders of Missouri, Chester Henry of Oklahoma; and one uncle – George Montgomery of New Mexico.
Interment will be in the Woods Memorial Cemetery, southwest of Chickasha, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home, Chickasha.
