Popular ghost hunter to bring presence to town

CHICKASHA — The Chickasha Paranormal Research Society (CPRS)  is giving the community an opportunity to learn more about the paranormal, meet a paranormal celebrity and go on a paranormal investigation.

Brian Harnois, of Ghost Hunters, Taps and Ghost Hunters International, will be at the Cottonwood Creek 50s Diner on March 12 will give a lecture with CPRS from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Attendance to this event is $20. VIP tickets, which include the lecture as well as the chance to participate in a paranormal investigation for $70. Harnois has been involved in the paranormal for 25 years, Wagner said. Wagner got in touch with Harnois through Facebook. Harnois was organizing a paranormal tour and Chickasha was added to the itinerary, thanks to CPRS.

Wagner said one of the things he wants to get across is that paranormal research is not like what is shown on T.V.

The ghost hunt will take place at the Cottonwood Creek 50s Diner, which has a lot of activity, Max Wagner, founder of CPRS, said. Wagner said when he asked Fran Morris, one of the owners, she agreed immediately. Morris has been supportive of CPRS, Wagner said.

Wagner said that he organized the event so that people would have an opportunity to learn more about the paranormal, something that Wagner said is somewhat of a taboo topic in the Chickasha area.

"Whether people want to believe it or not, it's there," Wagner said. He added that paranormal groups worldwide have collected evidence that indicates the existence of paranormal activity.

The Chickasha Paranormal Research Society has investigated several Chickasha sites including the Washita Theater, the old hospital, the Masonic Lodge, the Elk's Lodge and the Express-Star building.
