DARREN “BUSTER” LEE LEAVITT

June 28, 1962 - July 16, 2010

— A private family memorial service will be held to celebrate the life of Darren Lee Leavitt, 48, of Ninnekah.

Darren was born June 28, 1962 on the Ft. Sill Army Base in Lawton, Oklahoma, the son of Ron and Karen Leavitt.  God called him home Friday, July 16, 2010.  

Darren lived several places while growing up.  He spent time in Massachusetts, Hobart, and Ninnekah, graduating from Ninnekah High School in 1980.  Later he moved to New Mexico where he met and married his wife Amy on January 24, 1988 in Seminole, Texas.  After their marriage they moved back to Oklahoma, which is where they have called home for the past 17 years.  Buster enjoyed riding his Harley, collecting “antiques”, fishing, working in the yard, and sitting under the tree enjoying the outdoors.  Darren will always be remembered for his strong will, soft heart, and always offering a helping hand to those in need.  

He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Marvin Cooley and Mac T. Delk Sr., grandmother Mildred Cooley, and niece Kyra Fawn Cooley.

Survivors include his wife Amy of the home, mother Karen Leavitt of Hobbs, New Mexico; son and daughter in law, Robert and Tiffany Russell of Duncan; daughter and son in law, Amanda and Daniel Allison of Hobbs; brothers Kenneth Cooley of Chickasha, and Scott Leavitt and Hank Cooley both of Hobbs, and Thomas “Skeeter” Shook of Ninnekah; sister-in-law Sheila Shook of Ninnekah; grandchildren DJ and  Mackenzie Allison both of Hobbs and Skylar Meadows of Duncan; nephew Adam Westby of Oklahoma City; nieces Kathryn and Jennifer Cooley of Hobbs ; Godson Thomas “Little T” Shook of Ninnekah; Goddaughters Lacey Shook of Chickasha, Shawntae Shook and Mariah Whitmore both of Ninnekah.

Cremation Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

    Thomas David Cruzan, born May 15, 1948 to Boyce and Lena Cruzan died August 22, 2010.  Services will be Saturday August 28th at 4:00pm at the Kentucky Avenue Baptist Church, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Pastor Stanley Daniel will be officiating.

    Services for Robert Huber "Bob" Weidenmaier, 83, of Fort Cobb will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, August 27, 2010 at the United Methodist Church in Fort Cobb with the Rev. Tim Trujillo, pastor, officiating. Mr. Weidenmaier was born September 16,1926 in Oklahoma City to Emil & Delma (Daigh) Weidenmaier and passed from this life on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 in Oklahoma City. He was preceded in death by his mother; his brother, William D. (Bill); his step-mother, Loleet; his father and his wife of 57 years.

    Services for Ruby Helen Kuykendall, 80, former Minco resident, were held on Wednesday, August 25, 2010, 11a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Minco, Oklahoma, under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home. Officiating service were Dr. Don Rodgers and Reverend Gary Adams. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Minco.
    Ruby was born August 17, 1930 at Geary, Oklahoma to Lewis Stanton Sr., and Ruby Reynolds. She died, Sunday, August 22, 2010 at the Litzenberg Hospital in Central City, Nebraska.
