Funeral service for James D. Scott, 87, of Verden will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 14, 2012 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.
James D. Scott was born June 2, 1924 in Verden, and he died April 11, 2012 in Oklahoma City.
James lived in the Chickasha area all of his life. He farmed and ranched in the Verden area.
He and Mary Linn Ladd were married February 28, 1976.
James was a founding investor and served on the Board of Directors of Chickasha Bank. He was honored as Grady County Farmer of the Year and also served on the board of the Farm Bureau.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
James was preceded in death by wife: Mary Linn Ladd Scott April 29, 2010; four sisters; and parents.
Survivors include children: Edlynn Powell and husband Paul, Eddie Ladd and wife Linda, Elizabeth Richards and husband Tom; grandchildren: Tiffany Haile, Justin Powell, Shelbi Ladd, Aubrey Ladd, Jason Richards, Mary Beth Richards, Darci Ladd Smith; great-grandchildren: Brant Ladd Haile, Jewell Powell and Addison Smith
Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
