Funeral services for A.V. Garrett, 89, of Pocasset were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 13, 2012 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Rev. Jon Judd, First Baptist Church, Amber, officiated, and Bob Maupin, nephew, was Family Speaker.
A.V. Garrett was born Oct. 28, 1922 in Oswalt; one of nine children born to William F. and Lena Beulah (Mayes) Allison. She passed away June 10, 2012 in Oklahoma City.
She was raised in the Oswalt-Wilson, Oklahoma area. She married the love of her life, James H. Garrett, on March 2, 1940 at the Swanson home in Bridge Creek, and they had over 70 wonderful married years together.
They began farming in 1941 in the Tuttle and Amber areas, and settled in the Pocasset area in 1952. She and James farmed and ranched for approximately 69 years. They also operated a dairy for many years.
Her interests were flowers, gardening, bird watching, hand work, quilting, beaded jewelry creations, and shopping; but the great joys of her life were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband: James H. Garrett; Parents: William F. and Lena Beulah (Mayes) Allison; two sisters: Ruby Lantz and Rosa Allison; five brothers: Ulas Allison, Ervin Allison, William F. (Pete) Allison, Norban Lee Allison, and Ray Allison; and great-grandson: Eric Huckabay.
Survivors include two daughters: Shirley Browning and husband Jim of Amber and Beverly Bortell and husband Derrel of Pocasset; nine grandchildren: Debbie Paniaguas and husband Bob of Coral Springs, Fla.; Michelle Lindsey of Pocasset; Tobey Linton and wife Ashley of Ninnekah; Deatra Huckabay and husband Todd of Snyder; Kim Schubert and husband John Schubert of Forney, Texas; Cyndi Barnett and husband Jimmy of Hydro; Susan Browning of Moore; Dean and wife Liza of Dallas; David Bortell of Dallas; 14 great-grandchildren:Taylor Linton, Ryan Paniaguas, Tiffany Linton, Tymber Linton, Ashleigh Johnson, Brittany Callahan, Renee Kaiser, Tyler Shubert, Kaylee Huckabay, Tyler Barnett, Cassidy Schubert, Cassidy Huckabay, Alexis Bortell, and Avery Bortell; a sister: Emma Gentry of Owasso; and numerous nieces and nephews
Casket Bearers were Tobey Linton, grandson; Bruce Garrett,
nephew; Bob Paniaguas, grandson-in-law; Stan Gentry, nephew;Leroy Schein, friend; Bob Osborn, friend; Cheyenne Cotner, friend; and Dee Ray McClanahan, nephew. Honorary Casket Bearer was Paul D’Agostino, friend.
Interment was in the Pocasset Cemetery, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Pocasset Fire Department.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Don Hess and staff; Lifeline Home Health; especially to Suzanne, Kristyn, Peggy, and the other staff members in providing excellent, extended care for our Mother. To the Sevier Funeral Home for their exceptional care of our Mother; Linda Adams for the video presentation; and a special thanks to the ladies of the First Baptist Church of Amber for the delicious meals they prepared.

Patsy McDonald Rhymes
Patsy McDonald Rhymes, 62, of Chickasha, beloved wife of Danny Rhymes, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 14, 2013. She will be greatly missed by a large and loving extended family and many friends. Patsy was a devoted wife and mother and spent most of her time caring for her family.
She is survived by her husband Danny, her son Starling and his wife Connie, and grandchildren Rochelle and Michael. Patsy was especially close to her niece Pam and also leaves behind her brothers Charles, Paige, and Roland along with her sisters Thelma and Jeana.
Graveside services were held in Hominy, on Friday, May 17, 2013, at 2 p.m. and will be officiated by her longtime family minister, Rev. Leonard Lindsay. Arrangements are being handled by Poteet Funeral Home, Pawnee, Oklahoma. -
Nyoka “Jo” Hadley
Private graveside services were held for Noyka Hadley, 67, of Chickasha, on Wednesday May 15, 2013 in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
Noyka was born on February 10, 1946, in Houston, Texas. She died May 11, 2013, in Chickasha.
Services were under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

Lois Morris
Funeral service for Lois Morris, 89, of Chickasha, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2013, at the Maranatha Baptist Church in Chickasha. Lois was born June 13, 1923, the daughter of Elva L. and Eva Opal (Heavin) Keeton. She died May 13, 2013, in Muskogee.

Graveside services for Betty Jo James, 84.will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013 in the Westview Cemetery in Rush Springs under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Chapel in Rush Springs. Visitation will be held Monday and Tuesday at the Martin Funeral Home in Elk City and Wednesday and Thursday at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Chapel in Rush Springs.
Betty was born in Cox City, on Thursday, Sept. 27, 1928 and passed from this life on Saturday, May 11, 2013 in Elk City.

Freida Perkins
Funeral services for Freida Perkins, 95, of Chickasha, will be 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2013 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.
Freida Perkins was born March 19, 1918, at Kalamazoo, Michigan. She passed away at her home on Saturday, May 11, 2013.
Mrs. Perkins married Daniel Perkins on November 14, 1940. She and Daniel lived in New Mexico from 1940 to 1980, when they moved to the Amber area.
She had worked in the New Mexico public school system and after moving to Amber she worked at the Amber Café for seven years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Perkins in 1986 and a son, Danny Perkins in 2010.
Mrs. Perkins is survived by a sister, Esther Healey, of PawPaw, Michigan; four grandchildren: Penny Fuller, George Perkins, Wayne Perkins and T.J. Perkins; 11 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; Daughter-in-law: Wynema Perkins. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews including Carla and Eddie.
Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, OK under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. -
