Funeral Mass for Mary Pauline Reed Frey, 95, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at the Holy Name Catholic Church.

Mary Pauline Reed Frey died peacefully on March 24, 2012 at the home of her daughter in Wichita, Kan., where she had been living for the last year.  She was the fourth child of seven born to William Washington Reed and Lela Turner Reed on July 3, 1916 in Oklahoma City.  

She was educated in Oklahoma City and graduated from Classen High School in 1934.  Her family moved to Chickasha where she attended Oklahoma College for Women (USAO).  She was married to Rudolph Jacob Frey on November 26, 1936 at Holy Name Catholic Church.  They lived North of Chickasha where

they farmed for 30 years.  In addition to her work at the farm, Pauline also worked at Boren Malone, Johnson’s Office Supply and the Grady County Health Department.  After the death of Rudolph in 1970, Pauline moved to town where she continued her work at the Health Department.  She retired in 1980. Pauline was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church where she was an active member of the Catholic Women’s Activity Group and The Catholic Daughters of America.  She was also an active member of the Rural Neighbors.  

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; her husband:  Rudolph Frey; infant daughter:  Julia Anne; four sisters:  Ruth Brewer, Willa Gibbs, Norma Woodson and Helen Chenault.

Survivors include four daughters: Joan Neal of Wichita, Kan., Janet Lohah and husband Charles of Hominy, Joyce Cokely of Fort Smith, Ark., Paula Everett and husband Don of Dallas, Texas; a son:  James Frey and wife Michelina of Tigard, Ore.; abrother:  James Reed and wife Maxine of New York; other survivors include 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. at Sevier Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be sent to Holy Name Catholic Church in Chickasha or to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita, Kan.

  • Patsy McDonald Rhymes

    Patsy McDonald Rhymes, 62, of Chickasha, beloved wife of Danny Rhymes, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 14, 2013.  She will be greatly missed by a large and loving extended family and many friends.  Patsy was a devoted wife and mother and spent most of her time caring for her family. 
    She is survived by her husband Danny, her son Starling and his wife Connie, and grandchildren Rochelle and Michael.  Patsy was especially close to her niece Pam and also leaves behind her brothers Charles, Paige, and Roland along with her sisters Thelma and Jeana. 
    Graveside services were held in Hominy,  on Friday, May 17, 2013, at 2 p.m. and will be officiated by her longtime family minister, Rev. Leonard Lindsay.  Arrangements are being handled by Poteet Funeral Home, Pawnee, Oklahoma.

    Private graveside services were held for Noyka Hadley, 67, of Chickasha, on Wednesday May 15, 2013 in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
    Noyka was born on February 10, 1946, in Houston, Texas. She died May 11, 2013, in Chickasha.
    Services were under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

  • Lois Morris

    Funeral service for Lois Morris, 89, of Chickasha, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2013, at the Maranatha Baptist Church in Chickasha.  Lois was born June 13, 1923, the daughter of Elva L. and Eva Opal (Heavin) Keeton.  She died May 13, 2013, in Muskogee.

    Graveside services for Betty Jo James, 84.will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013 in the Westview Cemetery in Rush Springs under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Chapel in Rush Springs. Visitation will be held Monday and Tuesday at the Martin Funeral Home in Elk City and Wednesday and Thursday at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Chapel in Rush Springs.
    Betty was born in Cox City,  on Thursday, Sept. 27, 1928 and passed from this life on Saturday, May 11, 2013 in Elk City.

  • Freida Perkins

    Funeral services for Freida Perkins, 95, of Chickasha,  will be 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2013 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.
    Freida Perkins was born March 19, 1918, at Kalamazoo, Michigan.  She passed away at her home on Saturday, May 11, 2013.
    Mrs. Perkins married Daniel Perkins on November 14, 1940.  She and Daniel lived in New Mexico from 1940 to 1980, when they moved to the Amber area.
    She had worked in the New Mexico public school system and after moving to Amber she worked at the Amber Café for seven years.
    She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Perkins in 1986 and a son, Danny Perkins in 2010.
    Mrs. Perkins is survived by a sister, Esther Healey, of PawPaw, Michigan; four grandchildren:  Penny Fuller, George Perkins, Wayne Perkins and T.J. Perkins; 11 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; Daughter-in-law:  Wynema Perkins. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews including Carla and Eddie.
    Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, OK under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
