Funeral service for Billye June Griswold, 85, of Ninnekah will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, April 30, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Ninnekah, Oklahoma.

Billye June Griswold was born August 29, 1926 in Ninnekah. She was the daughter of Magness B. and Willie Etta (Conn) Boswell. She died April 26, 2012 in Chickasha.

She and Harvie Griswold were married August 19, 1945 in Tulare, Calif.  They farmed and ranched in the Ninnekah area.  Billye June also served at the Ninnekah voting precinct.

She was a member of the   Home Extension Club, and she was secretary of the Ninnekah Cemetery Board for many years. She visited the shut-ins and brought them cobblers.  Billye June was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ninnekah where she was a Sunday School teacher and was active in the nursery and with small children for 35 years. She also served on the benevolence committee.

She was preceded in death by husband:  Harvie Griswold January 17, 1998; infant daughter:  Deborah; two sisters:  Ozelle McCullough and Lou Ann Smith and Parents.

Survivors include son:  Randy Griswold and wife Jeannie of Ninnekah; grandchildren: Jennifer Girswold and fiancée Jack Shi of Chickasha and Shane Griswold of Germany.

Interment will be in the Ninnekah Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

    Private graveside services were held for Noyka Hadley, 67, of Chickasha, on Wednesday May 15, 2013 in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
    Noyka was born on February 10, 1946, in Houston, Texas. She died May 11, 2013, in Chickasha.
    Services were under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

    Funeral service for Lois Morris, 89, of Chickasha, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2013, at the Maranatha Baptist Church in Chickasha.  Lois was born June 13, 1923, the daughter of Elva L. and Eva Opal (Heavin) Keeton.  She died May 13, 2013, in Muskogee.

    Graveside services for Betty Jo James, 84.will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013 in the Westview Cemetery in Rush Springs under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Chapel in Rush Springs. Visitation will be held Monday and Tuesday at the Martin Funeral Home in Elk City and Wednesday and Thursday at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Chapel in Rush Springs.
    Betty was born in Cox City,  on Thursday, Sept. 27, 1928 and passed from this life on Saturday, May 11, 2013 in Elk City.

  • Freida Perkins

    Funeral services for Freida Perkins, 95, of Chickasha,  will be 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2013 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.
    Freida Perkins was born March 19, 1918, at Kalamazoo, Michigan.  She passed away at her home on Saturday, May 11, 2013.
    Mrs. Perkins married Daniel Perkins on November 14, 1940.  She and Daniel lived in New Mexico from 1940 to 1980, when they moved to the Amber area.
    She had worked in the New Mexico public school system and after moving to Amber she worked at the Amber Café for seven years.
    She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Perkins in 1986 and a son, Danny Perkins in 2010.
    Mrs. Perkins is survived by a sister, Esther Healey, of PawPaw, Michigan; four grandchildren:  Penny Fuller, George Perkins, Wayne Perkins and T.J. Perkins; 11 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; Daughter-in-law:  Wynema Perkins. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews including Carla and Eddie.
    Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, OK under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
