Roland Lee Fox, age 70, raised in the Corley/Stratford area as a child, moved with family to Aztec N.M and then Noble, where he graduated from high school. Roland spent his adult life in Chickasha with his wife, Judy, where they raised their three children. Roland and Judy then moved to Phoenix, Ariz. where they spent 20 years and then moved to Caney, Okla. in 2005 where he resided until his death.
He was born on Jan. 17, 1942, to Hollis and Eunice Gertrude (Lawrence) Fox, at Asher. Roland passed away on Nov. 22, 2012 in Oklahoma City. He graduated from Noble High School in 1959. Roland worked 50 years as a power line construction maintenance supervisor. He was also a rancher and showed shorthorn cattle. He married Judith Elaine Clark on May 20, 1961 at Ozark, AR. Roland was of the Methodist faith and was baptized on Easter Sunday, April 5, 1953 at age 11. He was a member of the Oklahoma-Texas-Arkansas and American Shorthorn Association. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, hunting, horseback riding and raising and showing shorthorn cattle.
Roland is survived by his children, Kelly Fox McGill and husband Daniel of Chickasha, Kenneth Fox of Caney, Kevin Fox and wife Carla of Idabel; grandchildren, Craig Estes of Celment, Morgan Fox of Idabel,Isabel Fox of Caney, Kadin Fox of Caney; brothers, Bob Fox and Jerry Fox of Noble; sister, Dixie Jackson of Noble.
Roland was preceded in death by his parents, Hollis and Eunice Gertrude (Lawrence) Fox; wife, Judith Elaine Fox.; brother in law, Art Jackson.
His services will be 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012 at the Wanette Cemetery Chapel, Wanette, Okla.
