Graveside service for Ralph C. Chambers, age 63 of Altus, was held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, in the Laverty Cemetery.

Ralph C. Chambers was born July 2, 1949, in Chickasha. He died on Dec.9, 2012, in Snyder.

Ralph grew up in Chickasha, then moved to Lawton, where he graduated from Eisenhower High School. He later moved to New Hampshire where he owned a home improvement business, worked for a power plant, and did auto mechanic work. He returned to Chickasha to be near his father and continue working as a mechanic. He eventually moved to Altus, where he has lived the past 15 years.

He was preceded in death by his father R.C. Chambers of Chickasha; grandparents Reuben Carol and Viola Chambers of Chickasha; and grandparents Earl and Dessie Gillespie of Chickasha.

Survivors include mother: Evelyn Johnson and step-father Walter Johnson of Wichita, Kan.; brother: Gary Chambers of Strafford, Missouri; son: Shane Chambers of Nashua, NH; daughter: Lynah Chambers of Nashua, NH; daughter: Christina Eshleman of Cherokee; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; companion of many years: Helen Boone of Altus; uncle: Marshall Chambers of Chickasha; uncle: Vernon Gillespie of Coweta; aunt: Aileen R. Jones of Wichita, Kan.; aunt: Nadine Chambers of Chickasha and aunt: Jane Chambers of Chickasha

Services are under the direction of McRay Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

  • Patsy McDonald Rhymes

    Patsy McDonald Rhymes, 62, of Chickasha, beloved wife of Danny Rhymes, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 14, 2013.  She will be greatly missed by a large and loving extended family and many friends.  Patsy was a devoted wife and mother and spent most of her time caring for her family. 
    She is survived by her husband Danny, her son Starling and his wife Connie, and grandchildren Rochelle and Michael.  Patsy was especially close to her niece Pam and also leaves behind her brothers Charles, Paige, and Roland along with her sisters Thelma and Jeana. 
    Graveside services were held in Hominy,  on Friday, May 17, 2013, at 2 p.m. and will be officiated by her longtime family minister, Rev. Leonard Lindsay.  Arrangements are being handled by Poteet Funeral Home, Pawnee, Oklahoma.

    Private graveside services were held for Noyka Hadley, 67, of Chickasha, on Wednesday May 15, 2013 in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
    Noyka was born on February 10, 1946, in Houston, Texas. She died May 11, 2013, in Chickasha.
    Services were under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

  • Lois Morris

    Funeral service for Lois Morris, 89, of Chickasha, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2013, at the Maranatha Baptist Church in Chickasha.  Lois was born June 13, 1923, the daughter of Elva L. and Eva Opal (Heavin) Keeton.  She died May 13, 2013, in Muskogee.

    Graveside services for Betty Jo James, 84.will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013 in the Westview Cemetery in Rush Springs under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Chapel in Rush Springs. Visitation will be held Monday and Tuesday at the Martin Funeral Home in Elk City and Wednesday and Thursday at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Chapel in Rush Springs.
    Betty was born in Cox City,  on Thursday, Sept. 27, 1928 and passed from this life on Saturday, May 11, 2013 in Elk City.

  • Freida Perkins

    Funeral services for Freida Perkins, 95, of Chickasha,  will be 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2013 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.
    Freida Perkins was born March 19, 1918, at Kalamazoo, Michigan.  She passed away at her home on Saturday, May 11, 2013.
    Mrs. Perkins married Daniel Perkins on November 14, 1940.  She and Daniel lived in New Mexico from 1940 to 1980, when they moved to the Amber area.
    She had worked in the New Mexico public school system and after moving to Amber she worked at the Amber Café for seven years.
    She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Perkins in 1986 and a son, Danny Perkins in 2010.
    Mrs. Perkins is survived by a sister, Esther Healey, of PawPaw, Michigan; four grandchildren:  Penny Fuller, George Perkins, Wayne Perkins and T.J. Perkins; 11 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; Daughter-in-law:  Wynema Perkins. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews including Carla and Eddie.
    Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, OK under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
