Funeral services for Wanda Meriel (Hawley) Lane, 70, of Chickasha, OK will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday August 25, 2010 at Grand Assembly of God in Chickasha, OK.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 24, from 4-6 p.m. at Sevier Funeral Home.
Wanda was born June 30, 1940 in Anadarko to Leon F. Hawley and Lou Ann (Haynes) Robertson. She died August 21, 2010 in Chickasha.
She was married to Hayden Dale Lane on November 22, 1980 in Chickasha.
Wanda Lane was a successful business woman and philanthropist. She owned and managed several thriving businesses throughout the course of her life-time such as: the Longhorn Café in Alex, A-OKFurniture Store in Chickasha, and Lane’s Furniture store in Ninnekah.
Wanda also aided her husband, Dale, in his heating and air-conditioning business. During her lifetime she was a role-model and mentor to various ages and genres of people. She participated as a volunteer youth leader and as a Sunday School teacher at her affiliated church. Wanda was an inspiration to her husband, children, family and to all that knew her. She was humble, yet direct and stood up for what she believed in. She continuously aided the less fortunate and always supported just and worthy causes. Her love knew no bounds, and she was not only a mother to her nine children but to the community children as well. Wanda’s legacy lives on through the lives of her children, her children’s children, and through all that were fortunate enough to know her.
Wanda was preceded in death by her father, Leon Hawley, step-mother, Beulah Hawley, grandson, Jacob Clay Moore, two sons: Jimbo Moore and Terry Dean Cunningham, sister: Margaret Teter and friend: Shirley Sneed.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Hayden ‘Dale’ Lane of the home; three sons: Billy Ray Moore Junior of Chickasha, John ‘Johnny’ T. Moore and wife Arlene of Alex, Gary Dale Lane and wife Michelle of Ninnekah, five daughters: Patricia ‘Patty’ Kay (Moore) Avila and husband, Luis of Chickasha, Dana Lynn (Wood) Raasch and husband Tyson of Ninnekah, Jamie Raynee Lane-Ross and husband Todd of Cabot, Arkansas, Karen ‘Renee’ (Lane) Sparks and husband James of Chickasha, Nina Heyden of Germany; Daughter-in-Law: Velta Cook Moore of Coleman; special daughters: Carol Mulligan of Chickasha, Nena Faye (Moon) Morgan of Moore; five brothers: James ‘Sonny’ Hawley of Anadarko, Gary Robertson of Anadarko, Ronnie Dean Robertson of Chickasha, Ricky Lynn Robertson of Chickasha, Tommy Robertson of Anadarko; four sisters: Eva (Hawley) Doughty of Anadarko, Johnetta (Robertson) Stinnett of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Pat (Robertson) Cantwell of Lawton, Joyce Moore of Alex; special friends and loved ones: Georgia Cornwell, caregiver and companion, of Chickasha; Sandra Stanton of England, United Kingdom; Franky (Pearcy) Wilmoth of Oklahoma City; Orella Bickerstaff and Linda Allen of Chickasha; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many other relatives.
Interment will be held in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
