Mary Etta (McCord) Keeler of Lindsay, Okla., passed from this life on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, Okla., at the age of 85.

Mary was born on Dec. 3, 1926 in Purdy, Okla. to Charles Oscar McCord and Louella (Cunningham) McCord. She and Joe Douglas Keeler were married in Wynnewood, Okla. on May 25, 1945.

Mary, referred to as "Nana" by her family, was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and gardening, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

Mrs. Keeler is survived by her husband, Joe Douglas Keller, of Lindsay; her children: Joe Keeler and wife, Margaret, of Bradley, Okla, and Linda Faulkner and husband, George, of Blanchard; a sister, Marie McCord Knapp of Windsor, New York and five grandchildren: Joe Keeler and wife Diane of Marlow, Okla.; Katie (Keeler) Roetker of Lindsay, Okla.; Kyle Faulkner and wife Belen and Jennifer Faulkner, all of Albuquerque, N.M. and Krisi (Keeler) Buss and husband Andrew of Buffalo, Okla.

Nana also leaves being seven great-grandchildren: Braden and Hannah Buss, Tayler and Colton Roetker, Jordan and Jenna Keeler and Kya Faulkner.

Preceding Mrs. Keeler in death were her parents, Charles and Louella McCord; a brother, Gale McCord and a sister, Opal McCord Harrison.

Funeral service for Mrs. Keeler is set for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the Missionary Baptist Church, located at 903 S. Main in Lindsay, Okla., with Pastor Farrell Eoff officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, Okla.

Services are under the direction of B.G. Boydston Funeral Home of Lindsay, Okla. Condolences may be made to the family online at www.boydstonfuneralhome.com.

  • Patsy McDonald Rhymes

    Patsy McDonald Rhymes, 62, of Chickasha, beloved wife of Danny Rhymes, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 14, 2013.  She will be greatly missed by a large and loving extended family and many friends.  Patsy was a devoted wife and mother and spent most of her time caring for her family. 
    She is survived by her husband Danny, her son Starling and his wife Connie, and grandchildren Rochelle and Michael.  Patsy was especially close to her niece Pam and also leaves behind her brothers Charles, Paige, and Roland along with her sisters Thelma and Jeana. 
    Graveside services were held in Hominy,  on Friday, May 17, 2013, at 2 p.m. and will be officiated by her longtime family minister, Rev. Leonard Lindsay.  Arrangements are being handled by Poteet Funeral Home, Pawnee, Oklahoma.

    Private graveside services were held for Noyka Hadley, 67, of Chickasha, on Wednesday May 15, 2013 in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
    Noyka was born on February 10, 1946, in Houston, Texas. She died May 11, 2013, in Chickasha.
    Services were under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

  • Lois Morris

    Funeral service for Lois Morris, 89, of Chickasha, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2013, at the Maranatha Baptist Church in Chickasha.  Lois was born June 13, 1923, the daughter of Elva L. and Eva Opal (Heavin) Keeton.  She died May 13, 2013, in Muskogee.

    Graveside services for Betty Jo James, 84.will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013 in the Westview Cemetery in Rush Springs under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Chapel in Rush Springs. Visitation will be held Monday and Tuesday at the Martin Funeral Home in Elk City and Wednesday and Thursday at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Chapel in Rush Springs.
    Betty was born in Cox City,  on Thursday, Sept. 27, 1928 and passed from this life on Saturday, May 11, 2013 in Elk City.

  • Freida Perkins

    Funeral services for Freida Perkins, 95, of Chickasha,  will be 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2013 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.
    Freida Perkins was born March 19, 1918, at Kalamazoo, Michigan.  She passed away at her home on Saturday, May 11, 2013.
    Mrs. Perkins married Daniel Perkins on November 14, 1940.  She and Daniel lived in New Mexico from 1940 to 1980, when they moved to the Amber area.
    She had worked in the New Mexico public school system and after moving to Amber she worked at the Amber Café for seven years.
    She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Perkins in 1986 and a son, Danny Perkins in 2010.
    Mrs. Perkins is survived by a sister, Esther Healey, of PawPaw, Michigan; four grandchildren:  Penny Fuller, George Perkins, Wayne Perkins and T.J. Perkins; 11 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; Daughter-in-law:  Wynema Perkins. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews including Carla and Eddie.
    Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, OK under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
