GEORGIA ELISE BARGER



Graveside service for Georgia Elise Barger, 89, former Chickasha resident, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 17, 2007 at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Georgia Elise Barger was born July 22, 1918 in Nashville, Arkansas the daughter of George and Leila (Huddleston) Koonce and died August 14, 2007 in Longview, Texas.

She graduated from Watson’s Business College and attended OCW in Chickasha. Georgia married Alvin Barger in 1939, and they raised two daughters in the Chickasha area. She and her husband owned a real estate business and a farm until retirement.

Georgia was preceded in death by:

Husband: Alvin Barger; Parents: George and Leila Koonce; one brother: Guy Koonce.

Survivors include:

two daughters: Carla Dodson of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; Brenda Barger of Austin, Texas; one granddaughter: Tracy Kennedy; one grandson: Geoff Wolfe; one great-granddaughter: Alisha Wolfe; two great-grandsons: Justin Milligan; Bryan Milligan; one great-great-granddaughter: Audrey Leigh Kyser.

Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.



WANDA FAYE MOORE



Funeral service for Wanda Faye Moore, 78, of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 20, 2007 at the Southern Oaks Church of Christ.

Wanda Faye Moore was born April 16, 1929 in Amber, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Nellie Keller Davis and Charles Wade Davis who have preceded her in death. She died August 16, 2007 in Norman, Oklahoma.

Wanda attended school in Lawton, Oklahoma; Duncan, Oklahoma and Rialto, California. She married Robert Lynn Moore, II in 1946 in Henrietta, Texas. They moved to the Chickasha area in 1948. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, on November 1, 1989.

She is survived by: eight children: Robert Lynn Moore III, Deborah Martin, Nick Moore, Teena Hicks, Rick Moore, Melissa Casey and Shane Moore; one sister, Sue Davis and four brothers Jim Davis, Gene Davis, Joe Hopkins, George Hopkins. Three brothers preceded her in death Bobby Davis, Odis Hopkins and Paul Hopkins. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Wanda had a long career in sales at Hicks Department Stores and Zales Jewelers where she retired in 1989.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

ROBERT MARTIN MERRELL



Robert Martin Merrell, 48, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, formerly of Chickasha, died Saturday, August 11, 2007 in a local hospital.

He was born on October 30, 1958 in Perryton, Texas.

He was an advertiser and displayer for retail stores.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 17, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in Fairlawn Cemetery with Michael Oberlender officiating.

He was preceded in death by his mother, June Merrell and both sets of grandparents.

He is survived by step-daughter, Crystal Shearburn of Van Buren Arkansas; step-sons, Stephen Church of Fort Smith; Shawn Church and Michael Church, both of VanBuren; parents, father and step-mother, Billie and Betty Merrell of Chickasha, Oklahoma; sisters, Landa Ramsey of Alex, Oklahoma; and Echo Southwell of Chickasha, Oklahoma; brothers, Brent Merrell of Oklahoma City; George Durington of Lindsay, Oklahoma; and Bailey Durington of Sulphur Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Dustin and Kaylen.

He was cremated at the family’s request under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
