BESSIE MAE COTTON

Funeral service for Bessie Mae Cotton, age 97 of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 in the Calvary Baptist Church. Rev. Chuck Patterson will officiate.
Bessie Mae was born the daughter of Daniel Edwards and Pirl Grow Edwards on Sept. 18, 1914 in Swink. She died on July 21, 2012 in Chickasha.
Bessie attended Lucile School, east of Chickasha, and lived in the Chickasha area all of her life. She married Raymond Dillard Cotton on May 10, 1933 in Chickasha.
Bessie worked in a sewing factory, café, and cotton gin early in her life. She began working at Oklahoma College for Women in the housekeeping department and retired as the housekeeping supervisor at the age of 70. She was a longtime member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
Bessie had many hobbies including gardening, sewing, quilting, and spending time with her family. She was a strong-willed woman who was filled with wisdom, strength, a strong work ethic, and an enormous love for the Lord that she shared with the rest of her family. She enjoyed Sunday dinners with her family where she blessed them with her home cooking and the best pecan pies in the South. Her grandchildren cherish memories of helping her in the garden, making homemade ice cream and listening to her stories of their parents and grandparents. From these experiences she passed down life lessons and instilled the importance of faith
She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Pirl Edwards, her husband, Raymond Cotton, son, Gilbert Cotton and grandchildren, Courtney Cotton, Noah Cotton, and Diana Carins.
Survivors include: Son: Raymond R. Cotton of Greenbrier, Ark., Son: Jerry Lee Cotton of Chickasha, Son: Ronald Cotton of Sherman, Texas, Daughter: Lois Niethammer of Freeland, Mich., Son: Virgil Ray Cotton of Prosperty, SC and numerous Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Great Great Grandchildren.
Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.

Theodore "Ted" A. Diaconoff
Ted Diaconoff, age 84 of Chickasha, was born the son of Andre Diaconoff and Evelyn Hotson Diaconoff on Oct. 7, 1928, in Akron, Ohio. He died on May 19, 2013 in Chickasha.
After receiving his masters degree, Ted continued his education and received his Phd at UCLA. He also attended the Juilliard School of Music in New York City where he studied piano and composition and was a faculty assistant. He later held teaching positions at universities in Michigan, Kentucky, then at USAO in Chickasha where he was a professor of music.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Betty.
Survivors include his brothers, Phillip Diaconoff of Livermore, Calif. and Peter Diaconoff of Santa Fe, NM.
Arrangements for cremation are with the McRay Funeral Home. There will be no services. -
Patsy McDonald Rhymes
Patsy McDonald Rhymes, 62, of Chickasha, beloved wife of Danny Rhymes, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 14, 2013. She will be greatly missed by a large and loving extended family and many friends. Patsy was a devoted wife and mother and spent most of her time caring for her family.
She is survived by her husband Danny, her son Starling and his wife Connie, and grandchildren Rochelle and Michael. Patsy was especially close to her niece Pam and also leaves behind her brothers Charles, Paige, and Roland along with her sisters Thelma and Jeana.
Graveside services were held in Hominy, on Friday, May 17, 2013, at 2 p.m. and will be officiated by her longtime family minister, Rev. Leonard Lindsay. Arrangements are being handled by Poteet Funeral Home, Pawnee, Oklahoma. -
Nyoka “Jo” Hadley
Private graveside services were held for Noyka Hadley, 67, of Chickasha, on Wednesday May 15, 2013 in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
Noyka was born on February 10, 1946, in Houston, Texas. She died May 11, 2013, in Chickasha.
Services were under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

Lois Morris
Funeral service for Lois Morris, 89, of Chickasha, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2013, at the Maranatha Baptist Church in Chickasha. Lois was born June 13, 1923, the daughter of Elva L. and Eva Opal (Heavin) Keeton. She died May 13, 2013, in Muskogee.

Graveside services for Betty Jo James, 84.will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013 in the Westview Cemetery in Rush Springs under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Chapel in Rush Springs. Visitation will be held Monday and Tuesday at the Martin Funeral Home in Elk City and Wednesday and Thursday at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Chapel in Rush Springs.
Betty was born in Cox City, on Thursday, Sept. 27, 1928 and passed from this life on Saturday, May 11, 2013 in Elk City.

Freida Perkins
Funeral services for Freida Perkins, 95, of Chickasha, will be 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2013 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.
Freida Perkins was born March 19, 1918, at Kalamazoo, Michigan. She passed away at her home on Saturday, May 11, 2013.
Mrs. Perkins married Daniel Perkins on November 14, 1940. She and Daniel lived in New Mexico from 1940 to 1980, when they moved to the Amber area.
She had worked in the New Mexico public school system and after moving to Amber she worked at the Amber Café for seven years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Perkins in 1986 and a son, Danny Perkins in 2010.
Mrs. Perkins is survived by a sister, Esther Healey, of PawPaw, Michigan; four grandchildren: Penny Fuller, George Perkins, Wayne Perkins and T.J. Perkins; 11 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; Daughter-in-law: Wynema Perkins. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews including Carla and Eddie.
Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, OK under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. -
