Funeral service for Vera E. Jacobs, 94, of Chickasha, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.  

Vera E. Jacobs was  born June 24, 1918 in Renfrow,  the daughter of Arthur and Winifred (Beham) Andrews.  She died Nov. 17, 2012 in Chickasha.

Vera grew up in Medford and graduated from Medford High School in 1936.  She and John “Jake” Jacobs were married December 1, 1946 in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho. They moved to Chickasha 47 years ago.   Vera owned and operated the Mushroom Shoppe from 1970-2008.  She enjoyed hunting, fishing, softball and the outdoors.

Vera was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by parents, husband:  John “Jake” Jacobs on June 27, 2008, son:  Gary Jacobs in 2009, brother:  W.C. Andrews and sister:  Marjorie Mast

Survivors include son:  Merrill Jacobs of Sacramento, CA; five grandchildren:  Ayren, Lindsey, Casey, Annie and Ben; four great-grandchildren:  Lucas, Delaney, Oriana and Nina and several nieces and nephews

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

    Private graveside services were held for Noyka Hadley, 67, of Chickasha, on Wednesday May 15, 2013 in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
    Noyka was born on February 10, 1946, in Houston, Texas. She died May 11, 2013, in Chickasha.
    Services were under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

    Funeral service for Lois Morris, 89, of Chickasha, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2013, at the Maranatha Baptist Church in Chickasha.  Lois was born June 13, 1923, the daughter of Elva L. and Eva Opal (Heavin) Keeton.  She died May 13, 2013, in Muskogee.

    Graveside services for Betty Jo James, 84.will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013 in the Westview Cemetery in Rush Springs under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Chapel in Rush Springs. Visitation will be held Monday and Tuesday at the Martin Funeral Home in Elk City and Wednesday and Thursday at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Chapel in Rush Springs.
    Betty was born in Cox City,  on Thursday, Sept. 27, 1928 and passed from this life on Saturday, May 11, 2013 in Elk City.

  • Freida Perkins

    Funeral services for Freida Perkins, 95, of Chickasha,  will be 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2013 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.
    Freida Perkins was born March 19, 1918, at Kalamazoo, Michigan.  She passed away at her home on Saturday, May 11, 2013.
    Mrs. Perkins married Daniel Perkins on November 14, 1940.  She and Daniel lived in New Mexico from 1940 to 1980, when they moved to the Amber area.
    She had worked in the New Mexico public school system and after moving to Amber she worked at the Amber Café for seven years.
    She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Perkins in 1986 and a son, Danny Perkins in 2010.
    Mrs. Perkins is survived by a sister, Esther Healey, of PawPaw, Michigan; four grandchildren:  Penny Fuller, George Perkins, Wayne Perkins and T.J. Perkins; 11 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; Daughter-in-law:  Wynema Perkins. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews including Carla and Eddie.
    Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, OK under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
