Funeral service for Danny Ray Franklin, age 31 of Chickasha, will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 13, 2012 in the Bible Baptist Church. Rev. David Brinkman will officiate.

Danny Ray was born the son of James Danny Franklin and Sharon Brinkley Franklin on July 23, 1980 in Oklahoma City. He died on Jan. 8, 2012 in Chickasha.

Danny worked as a land surveyor in the family business. He loved the outdoors and working with his hands. He enjoyed cleaning and repairing firearms for other people as a hobby. As a child, he played soccer and later bowled on a bowling team. He enjoyed playing golf with his grandfather and fishing with his dad. Danny loved his little girl and his family.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Edith Rae Franklin and maternal grandfather, Jerry Ray Brinkley, Jr.

Survivors include his parents: James D. & Sherrie Franklin of Chickasha; daughter: Kaylee Lynn Phillips of Chickasha; grandmother: Bettye J. Brinkley of Chickasha; brother: Hunter James Franklin of Chickasha; sister: Stephanie Ann Hayes of Tulsa and long-time girlfriend: Malinda Phillips of Chickasha.

Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka, Oklahoma. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
